Scheduled Maintenance
Update - A new ZetaChain ERC-20 Custody contract for Polygon is being deployed and all funds will be migrated from the old contract to the new one. The original contract will be paused during the migration and will revert all transactions.

After the migration, your dapp must use the new ERC-20 Custody contract address at 0x0Bad40D9e9C369f2223c835E108f43a45fd223B5. The contract interface remains the same so no changes other than the contract address are needed.

Transaction on the ZetaChain EVM will continue to operate normally. Only transactions involving the ERC-20 Custody Contract on Polygon will be reverted during this maintenance window.

How to Upgrade to the new ERC-20 Custody Contract Address:

If you have hardcoded the address anywhere in your dapp you'll need to make the change manually at the correct time for each external chain. See Status.ZetaChain.com for the specific maintenance window for each connected chain.

If your dapp queries the address dynamically from the `/zeta-chain/observer/get_chain_params` endpoint then your dapp will pickup the change automatically and no action is needed.

If you use the Protocol-Contracts NPM Package you will need to update to the latest version during the maintenance window.

Resolved - This incident has been resolved.
Nov 4, 20:53 UTC
Monitoring - Block production has been restored. We will be monitoring the network closely to ensure there are no more issues.
Nov 4, 20:12 UTC
Update - We've spotted that something has gone wrong. We're currently investigating the issue, and will provide an update soon.
Nov 4, 20:11 UTC
Identified - We are currently experiencing an issue where the Testnet network is not producing blocks.

This disruption occurred due to a binary issue encountered during a validator rollout in preparation for the upcoming v21 upgrade.

Our team has identified the root cause and is actively working to resolve the issue.

Restoring full functionality is our top priority, and we aim to have the network operational as soon as possible. Expect an update in the next 30 minutes.

Resolved - The testnet is producing blocks again. We will be posting a full post mortem on this and the related incidents soon.
Nov 1, 09:24 UTC
Update - Testnet validators are syncing back up and we expect blocks to be restoring very soon.
Nov 1, 07:58 UTC
Identified - The testnet is not producing blocks. This is directly related to the issue we saw on Mainnet with version 20.0.6 and we are taking action to restore the network as we did with Mainnet.

All validators should be running version v20.0.5 in testnet and mainnet. We are resyncing our testnet validators now and will provide another update in 60 minutes.

Nov 1, 06:25 UTC
Resolved - All cross-chain transactions have been processed.
Nov 1, 09:20 UTC
Monitoring - Pending cross-chain transaction have been processed and are re-reviewing all transactions sent during the previous incident window.
Nov 1, 08:03 UTC
Investigating - Cross-Chain transactions are delayed due to the network halt earlier today. We are monitoring the delays and the transactions are currently catching back up.

All transactions will eventually be processed. We'll provide a more specific estimate regarding cross-chain transaction times in the next 30 minutes or less.

Postmortem - Read details
Nov 4, 15:47 UTC
Resolved - The network is successfully producing blocks and all ZetaChain transactions are being processed as expected. We will share a post mortem tomorrow when we've reviewed the incident and replicate root cause using a development environment.
Nov 1, 06:00 UTC
Monitoring - The network is producing blocks again! We are monitoring for any lingering effects and reviewing the pending cross-chain transactions.

Our explorer and indexer will be back online soon.

All new ZetaChain transactions will be processed as expected.

Nov 1, 05:52 UTC
Identified - The network has been halted because of a consensus failure related to a new update that was rolled out to a small subset of validators. We believe we have identified the root cause of that consensus failure and will provide a more detailed update of root cause after we replicated the issue on a development network. The current priority is restoring network liveliness.

We have rolled back the validators we manage to the v20.0.5 version of the node software and have asked the community to do the same. Most of the community has completed this and we're seeing ~60% participation with the correct version of the software.

A few validators who were unable to participate in the vote after attempting to run the consensus breaking version (v20.0.6) and are resyncing from snapshots. Once those remaining validators are synced back up we expect the network to resume.

We will provide another update in 60 minutes and are hopeful the network will be restored before that time.

Nov 1, 04:23 UTC
Update - Engineers are engaged in troubleshooting the issue, and are actively working to restore network consensus.
Nov 1, 02:40 UTC
